Performative program of excavation of the Future in 2 parts, started in 2020 during the pandemic of covid-19.
An uprising in the anti-racist movement and against the genocide of Black people. Arise from the urgency to darken and IMAGINE impossible futures for the post-pandemic world.
GUIDED TOURS
Series of online guided tours through the virtual collection of the Museu dos Meninos, mediated by Mauricio Lima.
The performative program invites national and international artists, intellectuals, politicians and black activists who develop actions focused on the anti-racist movement to trace strategies to darken and imagine impossible futures.
The first season, in 2020, was commissioned by the Dutch cultural foundation Prince Claus, and had the partnership of The Black Archives in Amsterdam, and the second season was realized through the Aldir Blanc Law - 2021.
PERFORMANCE
Performance-piece that executes an affective archeology based on 5 "artifacts" collected during the research for the creation of the Museu dos Meninos (Boys' Museum).
In Archeologies of the Future, Maurício evokes the figure of the "actor MC" who, through some drawings and graphics, makes a testimonial based on memories, lived and invented, of his childhood and adolescence in Complexo do Alemão, the artist's home territory. In this process of excavation and discovery of artifacts, the performer questions what the body speaks about, which bodies are seen and heard, and who has the right to tell their own stories.
